[약쟁이] 에반더 홀리필드

1996년11월 지금으로부터 24년전 당시 마이크 타이슨과의 매치는 지금도 회자될 정도로 빅매치였습니다.

성실한 가톨릭 신자에 몸관리도 잘 하는 그런 복서로 알고 있었는데 최근에서야 유튜브를 통해 엘보 (팔꿈치)나 버팅 (박치기)를 아주 능수능란 교묘하게 사용해 챔피언으로 오랫동안 호사를 누리고 살았다는 사실을 알게 되었네요.

 

얼마 전에는 약을 많이 드셔서 인지 고환이 수축되서 다시 약을 먹어야 할 정도로 22파운드의 근육을 키우기 위해서 젊은 시절 약물의 힘으로 원하는 것을 얻었나 봅니다.

필자도 인생을 50가까이 살다보니 여러가지 인간 군상들을 만나게 되었고 이런 홀리필드 같은 부류의 인간들이 참 많이 있는 것을 봐왔습니다. 대학 시절 장학금을 위해서라면 그저 열심히 부지런히 치팅 페이퍼를 활용하는 학우들. 그런데 절차탁마란 사자성어가 어울리는지 모르겠지만 그런 학우들은 또 눈에 불을 켜고 많이 공부합니다. 장학금을 거머쥡니다. 본인 스스로도 자신의 부족함을 누구보다 잘 알고 있어서 인지 준비가 더 철저했던 것 같습니다.

For college scholarships, students who just diligently use the cheating paper. By the way, those classmates getting on their eyes and study a lot. They knew their shortcomings better than anyone, so they seemed more prepared.

 

 

 

 

반대로 지금도 전설의 파이터로 불리우고 계시는 타이슨 형님은 워낙 대놓고, 아랑곳 않고 여성편력이며 약물이며 유명하셔서 그냥 펀치 좋은 성깔 있는 박서로 알고 있었는데

짧다면 짧고 길면 긴 것이 새옹지마 인생인 것이라

 

 

지금은 후배들 지도에 힘쓰고 계시고 가끔 영화에도 야수로 출연하시는 우리의 이슨이형님이 더 마무리를 잘 하고 계신 것 같습니다. 스쳐도 사망이라는 핵펀치와 트레이닝 영상은 지금도 유명하죠.

If it's short or if it's long, anyway it IS life. Right now, our brother, who are training juniors and sometimes appearing as beasts in movies, seem to be finishing up better. Nuclear punches and training videos at his high are still famous.

 

대놓고 깽값 치르고 사신 분과

홀리한 척 이름도 홀리이지만 뒤로 잔뜩 호박씨 까시는 ㅅㄲ의 인생이 별반 다를게 없네요.
